KANDLE’s Nutrition Services department has several Registered Dietitians on our team. There are two major focuses of our Nutrition department: Special Dietary Requests and Nutrition Education
KANDLE strives to make every camper feel comfortable and safe at camp. Special dietary requests are welcomed with a concerted effort on providing meals the camper enjoys and are similar to the normal menu.
KANDLE’s electronic dietary request form is easy for parents, staff and campers to complete. Complicated diets are flagged to discuss with the parent the parameters of the diet as well as the campers taste preference. All request forms and parental notes are posted to KANDLE’s Client Portal.
"We wanted to say a big thank you to you and the staff for all your work on this! Graham and I had a wonderful experience and the food was great. We really appreciate the extra effort involved to make sure our dietary needs were addressed. The process for us was easy and worry free!"
KANDLE employs Nutrition Interns on camp to implement the menu plan for each special diet. Many of our nutrition interns have forged heartwarming relationships with their campers and receive numerous notes of appreciation.
Carbohydrate and Protein macronutrient information as well as ingredient labels are a few of the nutritional facts that can be provided by KANDLE Dining.
“The food at camp was great. It was insanely good. It was the best food I’ve had in my life. I just loved all the food. The pizza was especially good. I shared some with my friends and they liked it better than the regular pizza”
- Michael M.
“I am a diabetic, with a major food allergy, and the cook went out of his way to find things that I could eat. He checked labels diligently, and I am grateful.”
